MARTE: IL MISTERO DELL'ACQUA - MARS: THE MYSTERY OF WATER

Gli scienziati ancora non sanno dire se le misteriose striature che appaiono sui pendii di Marte nella stagione più calda del pianeta, sono la dimostrazione che l'acqua esiate in forma liquida.
Il fenomeno è noto come RSL (ricorrenti linee di pendenza)e sono delle striature che compaiono,quando si alzano le temperature,sui pendii e sulle pareti di Marte.In questa stagione "estiva"è stato verificato che i minerali di ferro presentano delle variazioni come se fluissero. Lujendra Ojha, dell'Università dell'Arizona,ha studiato le 13 immagini di siti RSL, grazie al materiale fornito dalla NASA. Ojha ha dichiarato che l'ipotesi che si studia è che  gli RSL sono causati da acqua che scorre sotto la superficie di Marte e nei periodi "caldi" rilascerebbe dei minerali "antigelo"che abbassano il punto di congelamento in modo significativo. Svelare il mistero delle linee scure stagionali di Marte 'potrebbe rivelare cose interessanti sul Pianeta Rosso, come la sua capacità di ospitare la vita come noi la conosciamo, funzionari della NASA hanno detto.
