Isole Salomone devastate da terremoti e cicloni-Solomon Islands devastated by earthquakes and cyclones

Almeno 7 morti, 30 dispersi e 10.000 senzatetto a causa di  piogge torrenziali e onde enormi sull'isola principale delle Salomone. Un contingente della Polizia della Nuova Zelanda, che già si trovava a Honiara, sta aiutando la polizia delle  Isole Salomone, con le conseguenze di una tempesta devastante. In precedenza è stato registrato un forte terremoto di magnitudo 6.0 che ha colpito le isole Salomone,secondo la US Geological Survey , ma non ci sono al momento notizie di danni. Il tremore, ad una profondità di 63 chilometri, ha colpito alle 10:40 il Venerdì, a 30 km ad  ovest  della città di Kirakira. La US Geological Survey ha emesso un "avviso verde", che indica una bassa probabilità di vittime e danni. Nel frattempo, almeno 16 sono stati uccisi nelle inondazioni nelle Isole Salomone, che lo rende uno dei peggiori disastri del Pacifico degli ultimi tempi.
