Fisico australiano genera onde traenti - Australian physicist generates tractor waves

Il Professor Michael Shats , professore di fisica dei fluidi presso L'Australian National University (ANU) ha presentato uno studio condotto dal suo gruppo di ricerca denominato: "Generation and reversal of surface flows by propagating waves". Lo studio tende a dimostrare la possibiltà di costruire uno  strumento in grado di generare "onde traenti su di un fluido" , fornendo una nuova tecnica radicale che potrebbe limitare le fuoriuscite di petrolio o manipolare oggetti galleggianti. Attraverso la propagazione di queste onde, sarebbe in sostanza possibile attirare a se un oggetto a distanza, (una sorta di raggio traente).

Le Onde di Faraday sull'acqua creano vortici orizzontali. Il meccanismo che genera vortici di superficie si propaga da pistoni  oscillanti in verticale.

 Professor Michael Shats, professor of physics of fluids at The Australian National University (ANU) presented a study conducted by his research group referred to as "Generation and reversal of surface flows by propagating waves." The study tends to demonstrate the possibility to build a tool capable of
generate "waves on a tractor fluid", providing a radical new technique that could limit oil spills or manipulate floating objects. Through the propagation of these waves, it would in essence can attract to whether an object at a distance, (a kind of tractor beam). The Faraday waves on the water create horizontal vortices. The mechanism that generates vortices surface propagates from pistons   oscillating vertically.
