The Hessdalen Phenomenon
Hessdalen is a small valley in the central part of Norway. Since the end of the 1981-1984 residents were affected by a strange phenomenon , unexplained lights appeared in different places throughout the valle.Il the phenomenon , which continues today, although with less intensity , at the beginning , in 1981 occurred with peaks of 20 observations per week. Since 1983, a scientific research project called Hessdalen is ongoing and has involved scientists from around the world. 53 observations were made of light during the investigation in the field. The founder of the Hessdalen project, conducted the first international conference on the subject in 1994. Declarations of Congress have indicated that the explanation of this phenomenon could lead to new discoveries in physics. This congress has also embarked on a collaboration between the University and the CNR stfold Italy . In 1999, together with the Dott.Stelio Montebuoni EMBLA project was launched , with the aim of studying the electromagnetic radiation and behavior of the Hessdalen phenomena . Despite ongoing research , there is no convincing explanation for the origin of these lights. Many assumptions have been made including:
1 - Fuel in the air involving clouds in the valley containing SCANDIUM .
2 - phenomenon of piezoelectricity due to certain types of rocks containing quartz crystals. Recent studies have ruled out this possibility .
3 - A plasma , in the atmosphere, formed by the alpha decay of radon , this hypothesis accredited so much that in 2004 , the researcher Teodorani , showed an event in which it was detected a level of radioactivity on the rocks near the area where it has been reported the observation of a large ball of light.
The hypothesis that currently occurs more credit is that of an Italian researcher , Jader Monari , who with other researchers and radio astronomers has formulated a theory that copper and sulfur in the ancient mines of the valley would give rise to a giant "battery" natural . As in a stack , the lines of force carrying the electrical particles that may give rise to the " bubbles" of light that are observed . This hypothesis would also explain why the Hessdalen lights (also called UFO Hessdalen ) would be most visible during the aurora , when electrically charged particles coming from the sun that trigger the phenomenon .

Mers: La situazione del contagio -Mers: The situation of contagion

NASA: Warp Drive - Nasa: Motore a curvatura

l'astronave.

What the Star Trek fans do not know is that a physicist at NASA 's Johnson Space Center in Houston is studying the feasibility of building a real warp drive . Harold " Sonny " White , head of the program 's advanced propulsion of the center, has assembled a table-top experiment designed to create small distortions space-time , the fabric of the universe. If the experiment is successful , could eventually lead to the development of a system capable of generating a bubble of space - time-warped around a spacecraft . Instead of increasing the speed of the spaceship, the speed would alter the space-time curvature along its path , allowing it to circumvent the laws of physics that prohibit travel faster than light . Such a spacecraft could overcome the vast distances between the stars in a few weeks . For readers and writers of science fiction, this is great news . It does not matter what other physicists scoff at the idea of White , arguing that it is impossible to change the space - time in this way. Nor does it matter that NASA has allocated only 50 thousand dollariper this project. A surprising number of scientists, engineers and space enthusiasts amateurs believe in this dream. They shared their hopes and assumptions in academic conferences . They founded organizations 100 Year Starship project , the Tau Zero Foundation , Icarus Interstellar , which seek to lay the groundwork for an unmanned interstellar mission that could be launched by the end of the century. Their passion has grown in recent years, when astronomers have identified a number of Earth-like planets orbiting stars that are relatively close to our sun. A few dozen of these worlds occupy the so-called " Goldilocks zone " around its star that would be suitable to sustain life. If further observations were to confirm the existence of a habitable planet , how could we resist sending an interstellar probe to explore this strange new world ?
Although White and a few other scientists have thought about the possibility of a warp drive , most of the fans interstellar focused their attention on technologies that are less hypothetical . Icarus Interstellar , for example, is coordinating a study of a proposed mission that would use the power of nuclear fusion to propel the spacecraft. Nuclear fusion is what gives the hydrogen bomb his " bang" , and if the energy is adequately controlled and exploited could accelerate a probe phenomenal speeds thousands of times faster than Voyager 1. But the researchers sought to build a fusion power plant over the past 50 years, without much success. The technology has not yet been demonstrated on the Earth, and is not ready to be installed in a space vehicle . Another big problem is the interstellar dust . Even if the dust grains are microscopic in deep space could cause huge damage to a probe that happened to be passing at such speeds . The spacecraft should be equipped with heavy shielding , which would increase the amount of fuel needed to accelerate
the spacecraft . The complications seem endless as the same space. The enormous difficulties of interstellar flight may help to explain the paradox noted by the famous physicist Enrico Fermi in 1950 : if intelligent life is common in the universe, where are all the aliens ? Maybe the aliens have never visited Earth , because it is too hard to get here. However , the dream of interstellar travel remains stubbornly alive. This past September, the 100 Year Starship project held a symposium on the topic just a month after Icarus Interstellar hosted their own conference . at a time when NASA is struggling to finance all of its priorities as: the construction of a new launch system for its astronauts , sending new probes on Mars, scheduling an interstellar mission may seem absurd and early . But advocates like Jill Tarter , who kicked off the effort to hunt for radio signals from extraterrestrial civilizations , argue that the exploration of other star systems is essential for the long-term survival of humanity. As long as the human race is limited to the Earth are at high risk of extinction. The only other world in our solar system that does not come even close to being habitable Mars, and it would take hundreds of years of climate engineering to make the Red Planet habitable for humans .

Gravità:Nuova mappa rivela anomalie-Gravity: New map reveals anomalies

From now on if you want to lose weight you do not need a diet, just move to higher ground . The change in weight that results is the result of fluctuations in the Earth's gravity , a new high-resolution map reveals more than previously thought . Gravity is often considered to be the same everywhere on Earth, but it varies because the planet is not perfectly spherical or uniformly dense. Moreover , the gravity is weaker equator because of the centrifugal forces produced by the rotation of the planet . And ' even weaker at higher elevations , farther from the center of the Earth , such as Mount Everest . NASA and ' European Space Agency , have both satellites with highly sensitive accelerometers that map the gravitational field of the planet, but they do not have a high precision. Christian Hirt Curtin University in Perth , Western Australia, and colleagues combined data from gravity and topographic data from satellites to map the changes in gravity between latitudes 60 ° north and 60 ° south , covering 80 percent of the land of the Earth. The map is composed of more than 3 billion points , with a resolution of approximately 250 meters . The team used a supercomputer to do the whole thing in three weeks. The model identifies differences more extreme acceleration of gravity than previously seen. The standard models provide a gravitational acceleration minimum of 9.7803 meters per second squared equator and 9.8322 m / s 2 at the poles. The model identifies Hirt unexpected places with the most extreme differences . The Monte Nevado Huascaran in Peru is the place where the acceleration of gravity is lower, at 9.7639 m / s 2, while the highest is the surface of the Arctic Ocean , to 9.8337 m / s 2. " Nevado was a little ' surprising , because it is about 1000 kilometers south of the equator ," says Hirt .
