Progetto Manhattan: la storia in vendita - Manhattan Project: the history on sale

All'apparenza sembra un normale vetro, quello messo all'asta a New York , in realtà è un oggetto di grossa importanza storica.
---Englisg Version---
It looks like a normal glass, that put up for auction in New York, it is actually an object of major historical importance. The window that is offered for sale through   which the researchers observed the Manhattan Project the first experiments on nuclear weapons, in particular oversaw the production of plutonium for Fat Man, the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, in August 1945. The New York branch of auctioneers Bonhams is selling one of the few remaining specimens of these windows, at an estimated price of $ 150,000 to $ 250,000. the edge Yellow is not a trick of the light - it's a indication that the window is filled with lead oxide. Lead blocking the radiation of plutonium, making it safe for researchers to look the other way, but also gave the windows strange properties, such as   the disintegration rather than the shear fracture. Fortunately for anyone planning to buy a slice of Atomic history, the window is not radioactive.
